Teaneck's 2020 Cat License Renewal Notification

Residents are being reminded that Cat License Renewals start on April 1, 2020. Cat owners will have until May 31, 2020 to renew their cat licenses without any penalty.

***However, the deadline to renew cat licenses without a late fee has been extended to August 1st***

FEE: $15 for (not) spayed/(not) neutered OR $12 for spayed/neutered. As of June 1st, a $15 late charge will be added to the original fee.

Residents who have new cats or who need renewal applications may obtain one by calling 201-837-1600 (x 1500) or on-line at www.teanecknj.gov (under Health Department Documents & Forms). Renewal applications were mailed at the end of March. Free rabies shots can be arranged through the Bergen Veterinary Hospital at (201) 837-3470 or Bergen County Animal Shelter at (201) 229-4600 (Residents must call for available clinic dates).

Cat owners should also note that rabies shots that expire prior to February 1, 2021 are NOT valid for licensing purposes. Payment can be made by check or money order. Checks can be made payable to the Township of Teaneck.

Please note: the Township of Teaneck has closed all municipal buildings to the public in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Residents are encouraged to mail all paperwork and fee(s) to the following address:
