2 Attempted Bank Robberies Under Investigation In Toms River

TOMS RIVER, NJ -- Toms River police are investigating a pair of attempted bank robberies that happened on Route 9 Tuesday afternoon.

The attempts happened shortly after 2 p.m., police said. They did not identify the banks.

Radio scanner reports from Exit 82 Scanner News and Tri-County Scanner News said the banks were First Financial Bank and Santander.

Police said additional information was not immediately available.
