600 Counterfeit Items, 2 Weapons Found Before South Toms River Man's Arrest: Officials

Officials say Rasheem Paige was selling counterfeit Louis Vuitton, Versace, Nike, Polo, Gucci, North Face, Fendi, and Coach goods.

SOUTH TOMS RIVER, NJ — A South Toms River man had more than 600 counterfeit items and two weapons inside his Dover Road business, officials said.

Rasheem Paige, 47, has been charged with counterfeiting and two counts of being a certain person not to possess a weapon, according to a news release.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and South Toms River Police Chief William Kosh announced the charges against Paige on Thursday.

Paige "was selling counterfeit goods purporting to be brands from Louis Vuitton, Versace, Nike, Polo, Gucci, North Face, Fendi, and Coach," Billhimer and Kosh said.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Economic Crime Squad, Department of Homeland Security, and South Toms River Police Department got a warrant to search Paige's Dover Road storefront and did so on Aug. 23.

They found more than 600 counterfeit items, a pellet handgun, and a "hyper speed folding knife," officials said.

Officers arrested Paige and served him with a summons pending a first appearance in Ocean County Superior Court, Billhimer and Kosh said.
