Celebrate May Day At Island Beach State Park

The event includes a pet services expo, information on native plants and fun for adults and children.

ISLAND BEACH STATE PARK, NJ — Bring your pets, bring your kids and bring your summer vibe to Island Beach State Park on Saturday, May 4 for the May Day Spring Festival and Pet Expo.

The event, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature craft vendors, food, music and fun for the family. Explore and buy native plants for your yard, and learn about the extensive lineup of pet products and services.

Park entry is free on Saturday for the event, which is hosted by the Friends of Island Beach State Park, a volunteer organization that provides services to visitors in the park. The group will be collecting donations for those inspired to contribute.

Friends of Island Beach State Park maintains the park's osprey cam, which give a nest-eye view of an active osprey nest, provides educational activities and supports special events to help visitors gain a larger appreciation of the park.

The event is funded in part by a grant from the Ocean County Board of Freeholders, along with sponsors including Grumpy's Bait and Tackle, Birchler Realtors, Red Fox Tiki Bar, and the Islander Food Court.
