Celebrating 60 Years of Priesthood

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Brandywine Toms River by Monarch recently hosted a surprise celebration honoring resident Father Dominic Fuccile on the 60th Anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood.

The special event brought together family and friends, including Father Dominic’s sister, Sister Madeline Fuccile, as well as longtime friends Jerry and Dawn Bironi and Lucille Coviello. The gathering provided an opportunity to recognize six decades of faith, leadership, and dedicated service to others.

Father Dominic was ordained on May 28, 1966, at Immaculate Conception Seminary in Darlington, New Jersey. His first assignment was at Assumption Parish in Roselle, where he served for two years. He then joined Our Lady Mother of the Church in Woodcliff Lake while the parish was still under construction. Throughout his ministry, Father Dominic also served at St. Michael’s Parish in Union and later became Pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Maplewood.

In addition to his parish ministry, Father Dominic served as a social worker for Catholic Charities and spent several years involved with the RENEW religious development program, which took him around the world supporting faith formation and community building efforts.

After 42 years of active ministry, Father Dominic retired in 2008. However, his commitment to service continued as he served as an assistant at St. Martha’s Roman Catholic Church in Point Pleasant before becoming a resident at Brandywine Toms River by Monarch in December 2025.

Today, Father Dominic remains an active member of the community and can often be found participating in some of his favorite activities, including the weekly Artist’s Palette program and lively games of bingo.

The celebration served as a meaningful tribute to Father Dominic’s remarkable journey of faith and service, while also honoring the lasting impact he has had on countless lives throughout his ministry.
