SEASIDE PARK, NJ — The U.S. Coast Guard searched for more than four hours Friday for a man who was reported to be in distress in the water off Seaside Park, a Coast Guard spokesperson confirmed.

The search was prompted by a 911 call reporting an older man waving his arms in the water, said Petty Officer 3rd Class Carmen Caver, a public relations specialist for the Coast Guard.

"He is not yet considered missing," Caver said Friday night, not long before the search was halted for the night.
