Comcast Blankets Toms River with Nearly 250 Xfinity WiFi Hotspots

Comcast recently announced it completed installation of 100+ new Xfinity WiFi outdoor hotspots in the greater Toms River region.

Comcast recently announced it completed installation of more than 100 new Xfinity WiFi outdoor hotspots in the greater Toms River region of Ocean County, as part of an ongoing expansion of the WiFi network that now includes nearly 250 hotspots throughout the county providing free access points that keep consumers connected on the go.

The addition of these outdoor hotspots near parks, shopping and dining destinations, government offices and other vibrant areas complements Comcast’s 17 million existing outdoor, residential and business hotspots across the nation, and most Xfinity Internet customers can access them at no additional cost.

Available access points include multiple locations in busy shopping corridors and destinations along Hooper Avenue and Fischer Blvd. Hotspots were added to areas customers will use while out and about running errands and enjoying outdoor venues in their communities.

The largest WiFi provider in the region and state, Comcast offers thousands of Xfinity WiFi hotspots throughout the Greater Philadelphia area.

“As we continue to invest in our WiFi network, we are bringing residents in and around the Ocean County area new levels of connectivity and convenience,” said Jim Samaha, senior vice president of Comcast’s Freedom Region, which serves Greater Philadelphia, New Jersey and northern Delaware.

Consumers can access Xfinity WiFi hotspots by selecting “xfinitywifi” from the list of available networks on their laptops or mobile devices and following the on screen prompts. Or most Xfinity Internet customers can download the Xfinity WiFi App to automatically connect to Xfinity WiFi hotspots when in range. Consumers can visit the hotspot finder map online at www.xfinity.com/wifi.

After signing in for the first time, customers will automatically connect to any Xfinity WiFi hotspot in the future, allowing them to save on wireless data plans and easily take advantage of access points available across the country, including popular vacation destinations along the East Coast.

Comcast’s Xfinity Internet service and Xfinity WiFi hotspots ensure customers have a fast online experience in their home, at work and in popular outdoor areas. According to Cisco, 88% of all U.S. data traffic on mobile and portable devices will travel over WiFi by 2018.
