Comfort Food Festival, Council Meeting In Toms River: Monday Manual

TOMS RIVER, NJ— Welcome to the Sept. 12 edition of Monday Manual, where we highlight events coming up during the week in the Toms River area.

The Toms River Township Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. The agenda for the meeting had not been posted as of Sunday; it is typically posted two days before the meeting.

The Toms River Regional Board of Education is scheduled to hold its committee meetings of the whole on Wednesday. The meetings are held at the district's administration building and usually livestreamed on the district's YouTube channel. Look for updated information on the district's website.

Downtown Toms River will be hosting its Comfort Food Festival on Saturday. The event, from noon to 6 p.m. (which will overlap with the Downtown Night Out event) includes great food, merchandise vendors, handcrafters, free kids activities, live entertainment and a beer and wine garden provided by Toms River Volunteer Fire Company 1. Local businesses, restaurants, and the brewery and distillery will be open on the street. Free admission and free parking will be available downtown during the event.

Also happening Saturday and Sunday is Que by the Sea in Seaside Heights, offering a smorgasbord of barbecued delights. There will be live entertainment, arts and crafts vendors and of course, plenty of barbecue.
