Determined, Committed Hard Worker: Ty, Toms River Star Student

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Beverly Massa, who nominated her grandson, Ty, of Toms River.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

He is an AP student who just got accepted into a D-1 school with an academic and athletic scholarship and also into their honors program. His determination and work ethics are commendable. He is setting a great example for his 3 brothers to follow. He was captain of the football team and helped them become state champions this year. After school and on weekends he delivers pizza for a local business. He is kind, considerate, and passionate. I know he will be successful in his future.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

That determination, commitment, and hard work helps you achieve your goals. He’s the perfect example of seeing your goals come to fruition.
