Join the GSP Chorus, under the direction of Maestro LaGruth, as its members herald the season in harmonized human voice performing one of the best-known choral works in Western music, Messiah.
This 1741 composition by George Frideric Handel, with lyrical texts by Charles Jennens, is venerated world-wide for its radiance, musical dynamics and complex score. Audiences familiar with the work’s selections, among them For Unto Us a Child is Born, Glory to God in the Highest and, of course, the Hallelujah Chorus, have made Messiah part of their annual holiday traditions.
The GSP Chorus will be joined by featured guest soloists: Mary Petro (Soprano), Catherine Freeman (Mezzo Soprano) and Daniel Klein (Baritone).
