Fall From Roof At Ocean County College Lands Woman In Hospital

The woman was conscious when she was taken to the hospital, police said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A woman has been hospitalized after she fell from the roof of the Kean Gateway building on the campus of Ocean County College on Wednesday, Toms River police said.

The woman's age and hometown were not released. Jillian Messina, media relations specialist for the Toms River Police Department, said the incident was reported at 12:25 p.m. and remains under investigation.

The woman "appeared to have jumped from the roof of the Kean Gateway Building," she said.

She was alert and conscious and was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, Messina said.

Ocean County Sheriff’s officers and Silverton First Aid Squad also assisted at the scene, she said.

The Kean Gateway building is about five stories high, Messina said. She did not have information on the extent of the woman's injuries.
