FanNation: The Geekstravaganza to Return to the Toms River Library

TOMS RIVER – The Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library will host “FanNation: The Geekstravaganza,” an annual, multi-genre convention where fans can get together and wave their geek banner high! It will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 3 with activities all throughout the day, including presentations, crafts, trivia, scavenger hunts, and cosplay.

Fans of anime, gaming, comics, and all things geeky can meet up with other people who love to love stuff.

Attendees are encouraged to join in the cosplay contest which will begin at 3 p.m. Sign up by 2:30 p.m. the day of to participate.

There will also be two kickoff events at the Toms River Branch in the week leading up to FanNation:

·WREP: When Radio Entertained People Presents The Day the Earth Stood Still – Wednesday, September 30 @ 6:30 p.m. – Enjoy an evening “broadcast” of a play from the Golden Age of radio, performed live by WREP’s veteran actors. The program will start with trivia at 6:30 p.m., followed by the performance starting at 7 p.m.

·The Amazing Eskies – Thursday, October 1 @ 6:30 p.m. – Join us for a fun interactive show of tricks by American Eskimo Dog team, Meri and Buddy, the Amazing Eskies! Watch them perform a variety of stunts with help from the audience, followed by a meet and greet.

Both kickoff events are generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ocean County Library – Toms River.
