TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Ocean County Sheriff's Office says people should avoid Hooper Avenue in downtown Toms River Saturday night.

Hooper Avenue is closed from Madison Avenue to Washington Street, the sheriff's office said, because of police activity.

The sheriff's office did not provide additional details in the alert sent out about 9:40 p.m.
