A lot has changed from the 2009-2010 Toms River South ice hockey squad, who won the Public A State Championship and the Dowd Cup in 2010.
Last year, the Indians last loss came in early January, when Howell came from behind to stun them at home. This year, South recently lost to Howell on Feb. 2 but has since reeled off six straight wins -- including their 2-1 overtime win over Brick Memorial in the first round of the Handchen Cup, Sunday night.
"Last year we were a lot deeper than we are this year," Toms River South head coach Bill McKinnon said.

In their opening-round game, captain Jay Malone's ability to produce was cut down due to the fact that he was shadowed, forcing other players to step up in the spotlight.
The Caseys, with a record of 14-6-4 own a five-game win streak of their own as they host the Indians with a bid to the Handchen Cup finals at stake.
The puck will drop at 8:15 p.m., Tuesday night.
