Junior Police Camp Accepting Applications For Toms River Kids
The Toms River Police Department will hold its Junior Police Camp in July. Applications are being accepted now.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Toms River Police Department is accepting applications for its 2023 Junior Police Camp, scheduled for July.
The camp, for children in sixth through eighth grades, gives students a glimpse inside the police department and at careers in law enforcement.
"Campers get to ride in police cars, utilize specialized police equipment, learn self-defense tactics, and physical agility," the police department said.

Campers also get to learn about the motorcycle unit and the Emergency Services Unit team, look around an EMS ambulance, and fire suppression vehicles, check out the department's obstacle course, and take a field trip to the Ortley Beach Lifeguard station.
The camp will be held from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. from July 10-14,

Children must be residents of Toms River and only those currently in sixth, seventh or eighth grades will be considered. The application can be found here; the deadline to apply is June 15.
