Motorcyclist From Toms River Hospitalized After Manchester Crash
A Toms River man was thrown from his motorcycle in the collision with a car; he remains hospitalized and was listed as stable, police said.
MANCHESTER, NJ — A Toms River man was injured in a crash between his motorcycle and a car on Ridgeway Road in Manchester on Monday, police said.
Tyler Applegate, 31, of Toms River, was listed as stable at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune on Tuesday, Manchester Capt. Vincent Manco said.
Applegate was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle east on Ridgeway Road about 8:20 p.m. Monday, Manco said.

Thomas Mangan, 38, of Manchester was driving a Dodge Challenger west on Ridgeway Road and was making a left onto Alberta Street when the Dodge was hit by the motorcycle, Manco said. Applegate was thrown from the motorcycle as a result of the impact and landed in the westbound shoulder, he said.
Mangan and a child who was a passenger in his car were not injured, Manco said.

Assisting at the scene were the Ridgeway Fire Department, Manchester Township EMS and Robert Wood Johnson paramedics.
The road was closed in both directions for several hours while the investigation was being conducted. Patrolman Michael Anderson of the department’s Traffic Safety section is investigating.
