Overnight Fire Damages Toms River Home: Fire Officials
Fire officials said "heavy clutter" in the house complicated efforts to fight the blaze but they contained it to the second floor.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A fire damaged a home on Park Crest Road early Wednesday morning, but authorities said there were no injuries.
The fire on the 900 block of Park Crest Road was reported at 1:24 a.m. and firefighters found flames on the second floor of the house, said John Novak, chief investigator for the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention.
Toms River Fire Companies 1 and 2 and East Dover Fire Company 4 responded and discovered "a heavy clutter condition" throughout the house, Fire Chief Gary Simone reported, which complicated efforts to fight the blaze. Additional fire companies were called into assist, Novak said.
