Pedestrian Hit On Route 37 In Toms River: Police
The man, from Lodi, was flown to the hospital, where he was in critical condition, Toms River police said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A North Jersey man was hospitalized after he was hit by a vehicle on Route 37 on Tuesday morning, Toms River police said.
The 42-year-old man, whose name was not released, was hit on Route 37 near River Drive about 9:30 a.m., said Jillian Messina, media relations specialist for the Toms River Police Department.
The preliminary investigation found the man had stepped into traffic and was not in a crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle that was headed east, Messina said.

The driver stopped and stayed at the scene, she said, and showed no signs of impairment. The driver was not identified.
Messina said police and emergency medical services responded, and the pedestrian was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where he was listed in critical condition.
