Raw Heroin Worth $10K Seized In Toms River Bust: Police
The two men arrested were from out of state, police said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Twenty grams of raw heroin — enough to make more than 2,000 doses to be sold on the street and worth $10,000 — was seized along with marijuana and cash by Toms River police on Saturday.
The police department's Special Enforcement Team stopped the vehicle while conducting surveillance, said Jillian Messina of the police department.
The investigation led to the discovery of the heroin, which had the potential to be 45 bricks, along with 2 grams of marijuana and $580 in cash, she said.

The two men in the vehicle — Covan Taylor Jr., 27, of Huttig, Arkansas, and John Woodall, 68, of Sardis, Mississippi — were arrested.
Taylor, who was the passenger, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of marijuana under 50 grams and second-degree possession of heroin over one-half ounce with the intent to distribute. Taylor initially was held at the Ocean County Jail but has since been released by the court pending a future court date.

Woodall was charged with possession of marijuana and released on a summons.
Police did not say what time on Saturday or where in Toms River the arrests happened.
