Seaside Heights Man Ordered Held In Fatal Assault Case
Anthony Collins is accused of causing Robert May's death; May hit his head on the pavement after Collins assaulted him, authorities say.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Seaside Heights man has been ordered held until trial in connection with an assault on another man that led to the man's death, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office announced Thursday.
Anthony P. Collins, 40, was ordered detained Wednesday by Superior Court Judge Guy P. Ryan in the death of Robert May, 70, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
Collins is accused of assaulting May on Sept. 18, knocking May off his bicycle and causing him to hit his head on the pavement, authorities have said. May was treated for a cut on his head at the scene but later that day had to be hospitalized, they said. He died Oct. 1 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.

The Ocean County Medical Examiner determined May died of blunt force injury resulting from the assault in Seaside Heights, Billhimer said.
