Toms River Car Crash Kills 1, Injures 2: TRPD

A 29-year-old Toms River woman was killed in a Rte. 37 car accident Monday morning, according to Toms River police.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A 29-year-old woman died Monday morning following an accident in Toms River, police report.

Crystal Calpin, 29, of Toms River, was traveling west on Route 37, and sped through a red light near the intersection of Oak Ridge Parkway, according to a news release from the Toms River Police Department. When speeding through the light, Calpin collided with another car traveling south on Oak Ridge Parkway. Emergency units were called to the scene just before 9 a.m. Monday.

Calpin passed away at Community Medical Center, police said. Occupants of the other vehicle were transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center, and are listed in critical condition.
