Toms River Man Arrested, $2,200 In Heroin, Cocaine Seized: Police

Two people were arrested following a motor vehicle stop in part of ongoing work by the police Narcotics Enforcement Team.

MANCHESTER, NJ — A Toms River man and a Brick Township woman were arrested recently after Manchester police seized $2,200 worth of heroin and cocaine during a motor vehicle stop.

Zachary Lockwood, 20, of Toms River, and Brittany Serovinski, 21, of Brick were arrested May 22 on Route 571 in Manchester after being observed by the police department's Narcotics Enforcement Team, Manchester Police Lt. Vincent Manco said.

Police saw the vehicle in the area of Route 571 and Route 547 and pulled it over. An investigation and search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 250 bags of heroin, about 4 grams of crack cocaine, a hypodermic syringe, and drug paraphernalia, with an approximate street value of $2,200, Manco said.

Lockwood, the driver, was charged with one count each of possession and possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of a hypodermic syringe, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to surrender CDS, Manco said.

Serovinski was charged with possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic syringe, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to surrender CDS, he said.

Lockwood is being held at the Ocean County Jail, according to Ocean County corrections records. Serovinski inially was taken to the jail but has been released to await court proceedings.

Assisting in the investigation were members of the Manchester Police K9 Unit and Manchester Police Patrol Bureau.
