Toms River Parade Moves Back To Halloween Permanently
Parade organizers say the move back to Halloween comes on the heels of decreased participation, a report says.
After two years of holding the annual Toms River Halloween parade on a Saturday, parade organizers have decided to move it back to Halloween permanently, according to a report.
The Asbury Park Press is reporting that the parade -- scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31 this year -- will be held on Oct. 31 going forward.
“The past three years we had switched it to the Saturday before, and we saw a big drop in both participants and spectators,” parade chairman Carl Weingroff told the Press. “We went from a three-hour, 15-minute parade to one that was barely over an hour.”
