Toms River Police Department Holding Open House

The event at police headquarters will include tours of the police department, demonstrations and giveaways.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Toms River Police Department is inviting the public to an open house on Saturday, May 11, at police headquarters.

The event will include displays of police, fire and EMS equipment, demonstrations by the departments K9 unit and motorcycle unit, and tours of the animal shelter.

There also will be tours of police headquarters, where a new timeline of the department's history is being created, with photos of the department's first police cars, old uniforms, and information about those who started the department and how it has grown into the force it is today.

The open house is from noon to 4 p.m. at police headquarters on Oak Street. There will be bicycle helmet giveaways for children while supplies last, and more.
