Toms River Police Hiring Dispatchers
The police department is seeking people who are able to remain calm and assist someone in an emergency and send the help that's needed.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Toms River Police Department is hiring full-time dispatchers.
Dispatchers are those who answer 911 calls and relay information to police, firefighters or EMS to help the person on the other end of the phone.
Dispatchers also help provide information to police officers as they arrive at a scene, call tow trucks or the prosecutor's office or the Ocean County medical examiner, as needed by what is happening at the site of the call.

"This is specialized work in receiving/dispatching police and emergency calls," the police department said. It "requires fast, efficient and accurate receiving, dispatching and processing of calls, alarms and messages. Employees assigned to this position are responsible for receiving, evaluating and dispatching calls for police service and performing notification and information- gathering duties in support of officers in the field."
