Toms River Police Find Missing Woman Safe
Police had been searching for her for a few hours Monday evening after she was reported to be armed and suicidal.
TOMS RIVER, NJ — A woman who was reported to be suicidal and armed with a handgun was found safe early Tuesday morning, Toms River police said.
Police were searching for the woman in a wooded area behind the Edgewood apartments, off Lakehurst Road, and along the access road that runs along the power lines behind the Silver Ridge Apartment complex.
The search included a helicopter along with searchers on the ground.

The woman was found early Tuesday and taken to a hospital for treatment, police said in a 1 a.m. update.
Police did not provide any additional information about the woman.
