Toms River Woman Faces Drug Charges After Lakehurst Arrest

LAKEHURST, NJ — A Toms River woman is facing multiple drug charges following a motor vehicle stop in Lakehurst, police said.

Elisha L. Bellamy, 18, was arrested May 13, Lakehurst Police Officer Robert Schroeck said.

Bellamy was a passenger in a silver Honda that was headed east on Route 37 and Police Officer Madelyn Waltz saw the car failing to keep right, Schroeck said, and pulled it over.

A search of the car turned up unspecified amounts of MDMA (also known as Ecstasy), pills suspected of containing codeine, an additional unspecified drug and drug paraphernalia, he said, that were determined to belong to Bellamy. The driver and another passenger were not charged.

Bellamy was arrested and taken to Lakehurst Police Headquarters was charged with possession of MDMA, two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was released with a summons pending a mandatory court appearance.

Waltz was assisted by Officer Harry Paul and Sgt. Matthew Kline, Schroeck said.
