Veterans' Health Care Fair Offers Information, Help In Toms River
The Ocean County Health Department is holding a health fair to help veterans get assistance and screenings.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Ocean County Health Department is hosting a veterans health care and resource fair Thursday, Nov. 16 to help local veterans find resources and get health screenings.
The health fair is set for 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at the health department, 175 Sunset Ave., Toms River.
Veterans who plan to attend are urged to register online so health department officials can better assist them.

Among the services and resources to be available:
- Help accessing VA benefits and eligibility
- VSB services including starting and filing claims, filing for death benefits and information on travel assistance
- Mental health and substance abuse information
- The Project Lifesaver program
- Education and training assistance
- Chronic disease and diabetes screening services
- Seasonal vaccines
- Financial and legal assistance
