Seafood Fest, Justin Guarini, Bug Fest, to name a few

Insectropolis, "The Bugseum of New Jersey" is holding Bugfest 2011 Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Toms River. You'll definitely want to wash off in the surf after taking in a cockroach race. But it's not all sport. For the kids, there is face painting and scavenger hunting, with prizes too.

If Bugfest doesn't whet your appetite, perhaps the 25th annual Belmar Seafood Festival will. Sample some of the state's finest restaurants, and wash it all down with craft beers and wines. There's an activity tent for the kids and live music to drown them out. The festival runs every day this weekend.

Go Greek if Jersey food doesn't do it for you. Try the gyros, loukoumades and souvlaki at the St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church Greek festival in Toms River. Just because you can't pronounce the food, doesn't mean you can't eat it. The festival runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
