Woman Admits Fatal Stabbing Of Ex-Boyfriend In Toms River

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Toms River woman has pleaded guilty to a 2020 stabbing that killed her former boyfriend, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office announced Monday.

Samantha A. Massimino, 36, pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Guy P. Ryan to manslaughter in the death of Reinaldo Feliciano Jr., 35, also of Toms River, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. She is scheduled to be sentenced on July 7, at which time the state will be seeking a seven-year prison sentence subject to the terms of the No Early Release Act, Billhimer said.

At about 4 a.m. on Oct. 24, 2020, Toms River police answering a 911 call to a residence found Feliciano with a stab wound to his leg, authorities said.

Feliciano was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River but died of his injuries about 4:45 a.m., authorities said.

Investigators learned Massimino and Feliciano had been in a relationship, and had gotten into an argument that night that turned physical. During the fight, Massimino grabbed knife and later stabbed Feliciano in the leg.

Massimino was arrested at the scene and has been held at the Ocean County Jail since her arrest.

Senior Assistant Prosecutor Jamie Schron is handling the case for the state. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit and Victim Witness Advocacy Unit, the Toms River Police Department, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit investigated.
