Woman Charged With DUI In Toms River Crash

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Toms River woman has been charged with driving under the influence following a crash Friday on Indian Hill Road that brought down a utility pole and disrupted traffic for several hours, Toms River police said.

Kimberly Frey, 30, of Toms River, was driving south on Indian Hill Road about 1 a.m. Friday when she failed to navigate the bend in the road near Carol Drive and hit a utility pole, said Jillian Messina, media relations specialist for the Toms River Police Department.

After hitting the pole, she hit two vehicles in the driveway of a nearby home before coming to a stop, Messina said.

Frey was treated for minor injuries at the scene and her passenger did not report any injuries, she said.

Frey was charged with driving under the influence and received citations charging her with reckless driving, careless driving, and failure to maintain lane, Messina said.

Frey's vehicle was towed from the scene as per John’s Law.

The crash remains under investigation by Toms River Police Officer Garett Henshaw.
