Bloomingdale Man Arrested After Leading Police on Chase

Police said a motorcyclist led them on a chase on Route 23 North on April 8.

arrested a 21-year-old man for eluding arrest after they said officers chased the motorcycle he was driving, as well as chased him on foot, on April 8 and underwent an “exhaustive investigation” to determine his identity.

John Sisco was charged with eluding arrest, unlicensed motorcycle endorsement, reckless driving, disregard of a traffic control, operating an unregistered vehicle and having unregistered insurance, inoperable tail lights and operating an unsafe motor vehicle on the roadway.

Police said they had received a report that the driver of a motorcycle, Sisco, was speeding on Route 23 North and found that he had also allegedly committed several traffic infractions in Cedar Grove, but that police were unable to stop him. In Butler, police said they saw the motorcycle go through a red light at the intersection of Kiel Avenue and Route 23 North.

After going through the intersection and being chased by police, police said Ptl. George Beyloune saw Sisco abandon the motorcycle and flee through a wooded area near Macopin Road.

Police were able to arrest Sisco, at which time they said he allegedly confessed to several traffic offenses. He was transported to the police station where he was processed and released on his own recognizance.
