Butler Man Allegedly Stole Contracting Supplies

The following arrest information was supplied by the Kinnelon Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 42-year-old Butler man was arrested on Aug. 24 and charged with theft and receiving stolen property after police said he was allegedly involved in the stealing of $2,500 worth of contracting supplies.

Eugene Hutsebaut was arrested that day.

responded to the theft report at 7:42 a.m. after a contractor who was working on the roadway reported that sometime overnight, a person had removed 12 iron manhole ring covers, eight gas ring covers and 12 water box ring covers. Police were later contacted by a witness who gave a description of the perpetrator and a license plate number of his truck.

Hutesbaut was later identified as the alleged perpetrator. He was arrested and later released with a ticket to appear in court at a later date.
