Colts Offense to Help Lead Football Players
Kinnelon High School varsity football team finishes preseason undefeated.
Last season was a season of disappointment for the varsity football team, as the group managed just three wins all season.
That disappointment has lingered throughout the offseason, and now, with a number of returning pieces set to have an impact, it seems like this squad is ready to take the next step.
Led by a fast and hard-hitting defense, coupled with a productive offense led by second-year starting quarterback Sean Robbins, the Colts came out of the preseason undefeated and seem to be a more complete team than in years past.

“Any time you have guys returning at any position, you’re excited,” head coach Kevin White said. “Experience means a lot in football because more games are won and lost by errors then they are by out-execution and I think most coaches would say the same thing. So the more experience that you’ve got back there, the better off you’re going to be.”
But no matter how much experience you put on the field, or how much you talk up the talent of your players, White knows that it’s going to take hard work and dedication to see results.

“I’m not a fortune teller, I don’t know where the season is going to go,” he said. “We’re going to come out, we’re going to work, we’re going to try our best, and the chips will fall where they may.”

Chris Bauer, A two-year starter in the secondary, Bauer’s ability to shut down opposing wide receivers will be missed.
COACH’S TAKE:
“I think overall team speed is good. I think offensively right now, we’re probably performing at a higher level than our defense, but hopefully our defense will catch up and catch up quickly, and we’ve got a chance to be a pretty good team.”- Coach White
THEY SAID IT:
“We’re definitely more optimistic this year. Our quarterback’s come back, he’s a lot more mature, he’s going to make good decisions and I like our team. We're based around quickness and we’re hard hitters too, we don’t give up. Our goal this year is to go all the way.”- Michael Post
“We’re doing real well in the preseason. We came out undefeated and we’re running over teams and stopping them on defense, so I think we’ll have a real good chance this year.”- Chris Villante
