Colts' Season Ends in Sectional Quarters
Sixth-seeded Kinnelon has a tough time at the plate against Pequannock.
The baseball team had its state tournament run come to an end on Friday, falling to 14th-seeded Pequannock, 8-2, in the North 1, Group II sectional quarterfinals at Kinnelon.
Despite the loss, the third-seeded Colts had a successful season, finishing as champions of the NJAC Liberty Conference with an 8-2 Conference record and a 13-7-1 record overall.

IN SHORT
Pequannock jumped out on Kinnelon early by scoring two runs in the top half of the first inning, but the Colts responded by getting two runs right back in the bottom half of the frame.
However, the Colts would not score again, while Pequannock would go on to score in every inning except the third. The Colts were stymied by Pequannock senior right-hander Joe Diffin, who threw four scoreless innings in relief while striking out seven to seal the win.
