Do You Know the History of the Silas Condict 'Casino'?

Each week, Kinnelon-Butler Patch will bring you a new tri-boro focused trivia question.

Did you know that , in , is home to the "Casino." No, not a real casino, but casino seemed to be an appropriate name in 1993 when the building, which is now used as a rental hall, was renovated and re-named.

During the renovations, historic preservationists made sure to keep much of the character intact of the stone building, which overlooks a small lake, including preserving many of the original murals that hung inside.

In 1953, the Morris County Park Commission acquired a parcel of land, which later became part of the 200 acres that makes up the park, with the "Casino" included. The rental hall is now used for weddings, bridal showers, and corporate events, but in the late 1920's, the building was used for something else.
