UPDATE: Family Unharmed in Fairview Avenue Residential Fire
Resident said she 'smelled smoke' before alarm went off.
Dozens of firefighters responded to a Fairview Avenue home in Butler Friday afternoon after a resident called complaining of smoke in the home.
Chief Jim Neill, who was on the scene, said the fire began on the second floor. Another official who was on the scene said the fire was caused by a laundry dryer.
Fourteen-year-old Morgan Radimer, a resident of the home said she smelled smoke in the hallway while she was on the second floor.

"I smelled smoke and my mom just thought it was the heater," Radimer said.
Radimer said around 3:15 p.m. she was home, along with her 17-year-old and 9-year-old sisters and both parents, and smelled what she thought was smoke coming from the attic.

As she began to tell the rest of her family members what she was smelling, the family gathered in her parents' bedroom where they began to see smoke coming from the ceiling, she said. Not long after, the alarm began to sound.
Radimer's mother called the police and fire department. Radimer quickly grabbed her cell phone and the family's small dog, Frosty.
"I walked outside, but I think I was just in shock," Radimer said.
Stephen Lekowski, 18, a High Street resident, said he could see the smoke from his home.
"There was a huge plume of smoke coming from the house," Lekowski said.
Lekowski said he saw the smoke coming from the roof of the home. Radimer said at the time, workers were doing construction near the roof.
"They said they didn't see anything," Radimer said.
As she waited for the fire department to clear the home, Radimer said she felt safe knowing her whole family was able to exit the house.
