Man Found in Medical Distress Charged With Unlawful Possession of Syringes

The following arrest information was supplied by the Butler Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 27-year-old man was charged with unlawful possession of a hypodermic syringe after police said they found him in a parking lot at Butler Ridge Apartments in medical distress.

said they received a call at about 10:49 p.m. Thursday about an apparent drug overdose in the parking lot of the complex, which is located on Route 23 South. Police said they found Louis Carlson, 27, of Butler, in medical distress and allegedly with a hypodermic syringe containing heroin residue on his lap. After receiving medical treatment, police said Carlson regained stability.

Police said 21-year-old Ralph Loveys, of Mountain Lakes, was with Carlson at the time of the incident and that he was found to be in possession of syringes and bottle caps with drug residue.

Both were arrested and transported to the police station. Carlson was released with a ticket to appear in court at a later date.
