Man Allegedly Used Counterfeit $20 Bill at Kinnelon Bagel

According to police, Gregory Deo Jr., 29, of Lyndhurst, used the counterfeit money on Feb. 9 to purchase food. Police said Deo received an undetermined amount of change after the purchase, and that the counterfeit money was not detected until later that night when the nightly deposit was being counted.
Deo was arrested by New Jersey State Police in Sussex for allegedly also using counterfeit $20 bills in their jurisdiction, police said. After an investigation, Deo was charged with forgery and criminal simulation. He is currently being held in the Sussex County jail in default of bail.

In other arrests, Kinnelon police arrested Megan M. Iannino, 19, of Kinnelon, on Tuesday on DWI charges. According to police, at around 8 p.m., the department received calls of a silver Nissan driving erratically up Boonton Avenue from Kakeout Road. Police said upon further investigation, they allegedly smelled a strong odor of alcohol on Iannino’s breath. Police also said she allegedly had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes.
Police said they observed an open bottle of vodka on the floor of the vehicle and asked Iannino to perform several field sobriety tests. Iannino allegedly cooperated, before refusing to take any more tests.

Iannino was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, having an open bottle of alcohol in a motor vehicle, careless driving and underage possession of alcohol. She was released with a ticket to appear in court at a later date.
