Picone Says Goodbye to Bloomingdale School District

Superintendent, board members said longtime teacher and counselor will be missed.

After spending nearly 13 years with the district, counselor and former teacher Maria Picone resigned from the school district for a position in the Prospect Park school district.

"I know we'll miss you terribly," Superintendent Dr. Fredda Rosenberg said during a board of education meeting Monday in which Picone's resignation was officially accepted.

"We wish you, really, the very, very best," she added.

Picone said she has worked in several roles in the district including as a fifth grade teacher and honors English teacher. She thanked the board and community for helping to make her time with the district enjoyable.

After making the motion to accept Picone's resignation, Board Member Thomas Kroncke thanked Picone.

"I just would also like to thank Mrs. Picone for all her work for and with the children of Bloomingdale," he said.
