Call From Homeowner Leads to Her Own Marijuana Charges

Kinnelon woman complained of strange odor and possible burning.

A call to by a homeowner complaining of a strange, possibly burning, odor resulted in the same woman’s arrest Friday after authorities found a glass pipe packed with marijuana in her nightstand.

Jean M. Firestone, 41, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after members of the  used an infrared camera to try and locate the possible fire within the walls. A clock resonating heat lead authorities to search the surrounding area around 3:48 p.m. During the search, the marijuana and pipe were allegedly found inside the nightstand, police said.

Firestone was released with a ticket to appear in court at a later date.

Police said Firestone allegedly admitted to owning the items and that nothing else was found to be burning in the home.
