Police Investigating Motor Vehicle Theft

Rafkind Road resident said his wallet was stolen.

are investigating an alleged motor vehicle theft after police said a Rafkind Road resident said someone entered his vehicle and stole his wallet on Sunday.

According to police, the resident, who was responded to at 8:20 a.m., said someone had entered his vehicle during the night after it had been parked on the roadway and left unlocked.

According to police, Cheryl Griffin, 49, of Bloomingdale, was driving on the roadway when she, for no known reason, drove off the roadway onto the curb, over the sidewalk and onto several properties before striking the truck. Police said Griffin's daughter was a passenger in the vehicle, but suffered no visible injuries. However, police said Griffin "did not seem to be acting normal," according to police reports.

Griffin was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson by . Her vehicle was towed from the scene by Rudge Towing.
