On Sunday, police responded to a Star Lake Road property around 1 p.m., when a resident said a wooden stockade fence that borders his property had been damaged over the previous two days.

Police said the resident showed them a spot on a connecting fence where damage was done to another property on Vreeland Avenue. Police said that despite a storm occurring the night before, they do not believe a storm to be the cause of the damage.
Police are asking anyone with information about the Star Lake Road incidents to contact them at 973-838-0158.

A Third Street resident filed a report with police of a possible Craigslist scam on Wednesday. Police said the resident had applied to an advertisement looking for employment and corresponded about the ad via email. The resident received instructions that said she would be receiving money orders and that she was to cash them to purchase certain items, police said. Police said she had contacted the post office and was advised that they were not valid.
Police said the resident did not lose any money, but that if a resident feels suspicious about a situation where there money will be used through the Internet, they can feel free to contact the police department.
