Kinnelon Boys Basketball Brings Senior-Laden Team to Court

As the temperatures get colder, high school sports move indoors for the varsity teams. As the season begins, we will be looking at some of the teams as they get ready for competition. Here is a preview of the Kinnelon boys basketball team:

OVERVIEW

The Kinnelon Colts are looking to improve on their 8-14 record from the 2011 season. They bring a lot of depth to the court from six seniors and a strong junior class.

KEEP YOUR EYE ON

Mike Fissinger, senior forward - Fissinger will be counted on for his scoring and leadership on the floor.

Nick Scorzo, senior guard - Scorzo's defense at the top of the key will be instrumental to the team's success.

Sean Robbins, junior guard - Bringing his 11 points per game from 2011, Robbins will have plenty of opportunity to add to the team's scoring.

THEY WILL MISS

Matt Mondello - Mondello's 14 points and 8 rebounds per game will be hard to make up. Mondello is a freshman at York College of PA and not playing basketball.

Brian Costello - Costello is at The College of William & Mary but not playing basketball. His six points and five rebounds will be missed.

AJ Leshik - A Rutgers freshman, Leshik is not playing basketball. He leaves after giving the Colts four points and four rebounds per game.

CAPTAINS

Senior forward Mike Fissinger, senior guard Chris Villante and junior guard Sean Robbins.

"We will count on several returning players to blend with Villante, Bolding and Mamary, who are all returning to the program after a year off to provide the Colts with some well-needed depth. Sean Robbins leads the Junior class which has seen Walsh, Giannetti and Argiriou all play some significant minutes as underclassmen the last two years." - Kinnelon head coach Sean Rivers
