Tri-Boro Softball Team Headed to Tournament Finals

The cruised to the District 2 finals with an 8-2 win over Pompton Lakes in a semifinal round matchup at Joe Grills field in Pompton Lakes on Thursday.

With the win, the girls will face Pequannock in tournament finals on Friday.

The Tri-Boro bats put up multiple runs in three consecutive innings to roll to the decisive win.

Starting pitcher Caitlin Monahan was on her game on Thursday, striking 10 strike outs. Pompton Lakes struggled to reach base the whole game, putting together just two runs all night. Monahan also added a two-run triple in the fourth inning.

That performance, combined with timely hitting and great base-running and fielding from Jessie Sparta, Kayla Carr, Tiffany Martin, Caitlin Monahan, Dani Andreotta, Brook Redner, Nicole Conti, Sam Diloberto, Adrianna Giordano and Shannon Tagert, helped Tri-boro to a big semifinal win.
