
What do I do when my GYM closes?
Being in the fitness industry for 20 years and an active gym member for more than 25 years, I have experienced my share of fitness businesses closing their doors due to the inability to be profitable. In my career, I have had gyms close while I was a member of the facility, and as an industry consultant, I have had gyms close while owing me substantial amounts of money and I have also helped guide gyms from operation through a sale or a closure.There is one thing to be sure of - there is a right way and a wrong way to do this. The right way would see the staff and management informed so they could make decisions for their future. It would see the ownership be accountable and take responsibility to their commitment to their members. It would see the members be informed and cared for by offering alternatives in the area.
The bottom line is that there is a way to end your business with dignity and respect towards the people that actually kept you in business for so long.
Many members will most likely have been associated with a gym for multiple years and it becomes part of their routine. The process of finding somewhere else where they will "fit in" can be a traumatic experience. Couple this with a lack of information and general indifference by ownership and it can actually create anger and mistrust towards an entire industry.
To the members that have or will experience this, I say that there are many alternatives and in many cases, the alternative can be a substantial improvement over what you are used to. It is possible.
My story:
I have been very fortunate in life. Having been involved in the fitness industry for 20 years, I have had the opportunity to work one on one with 1000's of clients and certify 1000's of Personal Trainers. During the time I spent travelling the country from health club to health club I became increasingly frustrated at the poor standards in our industry. Quite simply I became sick and tired of clubs where sales numbers were more important than member results, personal training standards were ridiculously poor and good training programs and qualified instruction were almost impossible to find. I set out to create the solution.
I believe that Innovation Fitness offers you the best opportunity to be successful. We are the best fitness training facility in the area with the most attentive and knowledgeable staff, the most cutting edge training methods and a clean and comfortable physical plant. You will not find a more qualified or more highly trained fitness coaching team anywhere. We also believe we offer many things none of the other fitness businesses in the area offer, such as our lifestyle enhancement programs like our Family Training Programs, our Support/Education Groups and our Parisi Athletic Training Program.
But we also feel that talk is cheap, though, and every owner will tell you that he or she is proud and that member results are very important to them.

We understand that making a decision where to work out is difficult. Will I like the other members? Will I really stick with it this time? Will the staff appreciate my business after the sale? These are fair questions that can only be answered by coming in to experience the supportive, encouraging, and educational and results driven environment that we have created. It's hard to hide bad service, poor staff or a lack of knowledge face-to-face. We are proud of what we do here and feel that if we're given a chance you'll want to be one of our "Achievers".

We are one of the more expensive gyms in town. This is by choice. Poor service, poor staff and poor member results are all part of being a cheaply priced facility. To our way of doing business, you can't be the best and the cheapest at the same time. This also means that our gym is not for everyone. If you are looking for results and you appreciate quality, then we're for you. If price is your deciding factor, you won't be happy with us. We really do feel we are the best and we're worth it.
So come in, you'll meet our staff, become a full member for 14-days FREE and decide for yourself. If we are not the best, then don't become a member. It's that simple.
