An officer on patrol allegedly observed a vehicle believed to be a BMW operating at a high rate of speed on Pompton Avenue around 2:40 a.m. but was unable to stop the car “due to its high speed and reckless operation,” police said.
“In an effort to reduce opportunity for motor vehicle thefts, please lock and alarm vehicles and secure all keys and key fobs, in addition to securing all valuables,” Cedar Grove police stated. “Please consider leaving exterior lights on at night and parking vehicles in the garage whenever possible.
