Cops: Cedar Grove Man Threatens Family Member With Kitchen Knife

Cedar Grove police arrested a 53-year-old man for allegedly threatening to use a large kitchen knife against a family member on June 9.

According to police, the incident took place around 3:14 p.m. at the Meadowbrook Gardens apartment building on Pompton Avenue.

After responding to the complex and conducting an investigation, police arrested Douglas Green Sr. for “brandishing a large kitchen knife and threatening to use it against a family member.”

The incident took place after an argument, police stated.

Nobody was injured during the incident.

The defendant was processed on the charges at police headquarters and released pending a Superior Court Arraignment in Newark on June 17.
