“We expected quite a crowd,” said Janet Trotter, library branch manager. “The library is becoming more of a community center and concerts like this offer the public a chance for free, enjoyable entertainment.”

The audience spanned generations, including 20-month-old Aurora Rosen, who attended with her grandparents, Diane and Frank Haviland.

“We were babysitting tonight and knew that Aurora would love the music,” said Haviland.

Audience members donned artificial flower leis to get in the island mood and most sang along throughout the nearly 90-minute concert.  The duo, joined by two other musicians, also took requests from the audience.

Banter among the four added to the fun-filled evening.

“Did we get any of the lyrics right on the first four songs?” Jimmy Maraventano Jr. asked of his father.
