Bargain Books at Wall Library Book Sale
$1 Bag Sale Continues Through Saturday, September 24
Hoping to find a few mystery books to read, Charlie Albano shopped the Wall Library’s quarterly book sale Tuesday.
“I read several books per week, mostly mystery and adventure. You can really find some good buys here,” said Albano, of Wall, who visits the book sale regularly.
Book sale, which also includes the sale of DVDs, VHS tapes, audiobooks and cassettes, began on September 10 with a line of 81 people, according to Branch Manager Janet Trotter.

“The first day is the busiest. We see book dealers and collectors looking for a certain type of book,” Trotter said.
“I like to try new authors that I haven’t read before,” said Vivian Ellicott, of Dumont Terrace, who was purchasing paperbacks and an audio book for an upcoming trip. “It’s a great bargain.”

The book sale is organized by the Wall Library Board of Trustees and about 20 volunteers. Individuals from the community donate books for the sales throughout the year. The books are sorted, shelved and used for the book sales.
“We used to hold the sales three times per year. About two years ago, we increased the sale to quarterly because it became so popular,” Trotter said.
Sale items are priced $0.25 to $2.00 each. The remaining items are for sale for $1.00 a bag through September 24.
The next book sale is scheduled for December 3 through December 17, with the $1.00 bag sale beginning Monday, December 12.
